Account deletion

Request for the deletion of your account and personal data

This page explains how to delete your account in the Korysnyk application and the related personal data in accordance with the GDPR, the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the policies of the Apple App Store and Google Play regarding account deletion

Ways to delete an account

We offer two ways. Both lead to the same result

Method 2. Via email

If you do not have access to the application, send a request to admin@korysnyk.care

Subject of the email: Account deletion request

In the email, indicate

• The email address to which the account is registered
• Confirmation that the request is being sent by you
• Optionally, the reason for deletion (not required, to improve the Service)

The request must be sent from the same email address to which the account is registered. This is necessary for identity verification in accordance with Article 12(6) of the GDPR. If you send the request from a different address, we will ask for additional confirmation

We respond to the request within no more than 30 days of receipt in accordance with Article 12(3) of the GDPR

The deletion process

Deletion takes place in two stages

Stage 1. Soft-delete (30 days)

Immediately after receipt of the request

• Access to the account is blocked
• Logging in to the application becomes impossible
• The profile and personal data cease to be used for any operations
• Analytics for the account is stopped

Within 30 days you may contact admin@korysnyk.care from the same email address to cancel the request, if you have changed your mind. After cancellation, access is restored with all data

Stage 2. Complete destruction

After the end of the 30-day period, personal data is irreversibly deleted from production systems. Recovery after this stage is impossible

Confirmation of the completion of the deletion is sent to the email address from which the request was sent

What is deleted

Upon final deletion, the following are irreversibly destroyed

• First and last name, if you specified them
• Email address
• The password hash and authentication tokens
• Profile photo, if you uploaded one
• The health profile in full, in particular allergies, food intolerances, chronic diseases, dietary restrictions, anthropometric indicators, skin type
• History of barcode scans
• History of text and voice searches
• History of chats with the AI assistants Savora, Medic, Cosmo
• Likes, dislikes, comments on products and news
• News bookmarks
• Application settings and subscriptions

What is retained

Some data may be retained after account deletion on grounds provided for by Article 17(3) of the GDPR and applicable legislation. This data does not allow you to be identified

• Anonymized statistical data about the use of the Service
• Log records (logs) necessary for the security of the infrastructure and the prevention of abuse, for a limited period
• Data that we are obliged to retain under the requirements of legislation (for example, accounting records of payments, if you made payment through the App Store or Google Play)
• The cache of the general analysis of product composition (the Lumi level) by EAN13, since it does not contain personal data and is used for all users
• Photos of packaging that you submitted for moderation and that were accepted into the public product database. Such photos lose their link to your account and remain in the database as part of the product information

Deletion in the app stores

Deleting the account in the Service does not automatically cancel active paid subscriptions taken out through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscriptions must be cancelled separately in the relevant app store

• iOS: Device settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
• Android: Google Play → Subscriptions

Unexplained charges after account deletion may be connected with an uncancelled subscription in the app store

Your rights

Deletion of an account is one of the ways to exercise the right to erasure under Article 17 of the GDPR. In addition to it, you have other rights described in the Privacy Policy

• Right of access to data
• Right to rectification
• Right to restriction of processing
• Right to data portability
• Right to object to processing

Right to complain

If you believe that your deletion request was not processed properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
